Production Chemist/ Laboratory Technician Textiles\n\nType: Permanent \nLocation: Manchester\nHours: Rotating shifts; 06:0014:00 Mon to Thursday, 06:00- 12:00/1200-18:00 Friday\nSalary: £28,375 increasing a further £2000 after probation (£30,375)\nAdditional: 28 days holiday, rising one day after 12 months, life assurance policy, company pension 4% contribution, discounted gym membership, Christmas savings scheme, flu jab and NHS health checks, subsidised canteen & parking onsite \n\nOur client, a leading manufacturer based in Manchester is looking to appoint an experienced mixing/laboratory technician who will work at their state-of-the-art facility and offered progression opportunities -supporting a wider Laboratory team by performing quality control checks, you will also undertake development work related to textiles and chemicals as required.\n\nThe Job\n\nØConduct quality control checks on raw materials.\nØEvaluate liquor samples, including viscosity and assessments.\nØTest uncoated and coated fabrics to ensure quality standards.\nØPerform precise matching and make necessary corrections to meet quality standards.\nØUpdate and record test results accurately.\nØMaintain the Works Order Spreadsheet.\nØProvide support in the mixing room as needed.\nØHandle and organise fabric swatches\n\nThe Person \n\nØStrong proficiency in matching and correction techniques.\nØPractical experience in textiles or paint manufacturing in a similar/ laboratory setting \nØThe ideal candidate will have experience using UV-VIS & X-rite Spectrophotometer.\nØAdditionally, the ideal candidate will have experience using AX Dynamics software & iControl software (NOT ESSENTIAL) \nØCompetence in using Microsoft Excel and Word.\nØExcellent organisational skills and attention to detail.\nØAbility to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.\nØStrong communication and time management skills.\n\nImportant Information: We endeavour to process your personal data in a fair and transparent manner.
