The Land Survey Crew Chief oversees and manages survey crews engaged in land surveying activities. This role involves coordinating field operations, ensuring accuracy in survey data collection, and maintaining equipment. • Gathers survey data using global positioning systems (GPS) and other surveying tools to map areas and measure angles, distances, and elevations
• Analyzes plans, plats, and legal documents to appropriately plan and schedule work
• Drafts reports, descriptions, and other documentation for all surveys performed
• Ensures final maps display a comprehensive and accurate description of the field survey
• Ensures the work of all crew members meets standards and that assigned tasks are completed in a timely manner

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• At least four years of qualified surveying experience required
• Excellent supervisory and organizational skills
• Thorough understanding of and ability to execute proper field survey procedures
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary for effective collaboration and the ability to take direction and grow with the company.
• Ability to collaborate with drafting managers, design staff, and the operations team will be necessary for providing status updates, discussing challenges, and addressing plan revisions.
• Thorough understanding of mathematical calculations used in field surveys and the ability to identify mistakes in calculations
