Position Overview: We are seeking an enthusiastic and hardworking to assist our Landscape Project Management team this summer. As a Landscape Project Manager/Estimator , you will gain exposure to the full life cycle of landscape projects, from initial design and estimating to project execution and completion. This will allow you to develop valuable skills in project coordination, cost estimation, client interaction, and site management, preparing you for a future career in landscape project management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the preparation of estimates for landscape projects, including material costs, labor, and equipment.
- Collaborate with the project management team to develop detailed project timelines and schedules.
- Help coordinate project resources, including labor, materials, and subcontractors, to ensure timely and efficient project execution.
- Participate in site visits to assess project progress, quality, and adherence to specifications.
- Support the preparation of proposals, contracts, and change orders for clients.
- Assist in managing project budgets and tracking costs to ensure projects stay within financial parameters.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including progress reports, meeting notes, and correspondence.
- Communicate with clients, contractors, and suppliers to gather information, request bids, and provide updates.
- Help resolve any issues or challenges that arise during the project, including addressing concerns related to materials, schedules, and site conditions.
- Assist with safety management and ensure that safety protocols are being followed on-site.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to problem-solving discussions related to project timelines, costs, and logistics.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Landscape Architecture, Construction Management, Horticulture, or a related field.
- Strong interest in landscape design, project management, and estimating.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to review and understand project plans, blueprints, and estimates.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and basic knowledge of landscape design software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar) is a plus.
- Detail-oriented with a strong ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong work ethic, with the ability to take initiative and learn quickly.
- Previous experience or coursework related to landscape design, construction, or project management is a plus but not required.
