Marshall Brothers Enterprises, Inc., a general engineering contractor located in Livermore, is searching for a qualified candidate to join our team as a Full-Time Lead Diesel Mechanic for our company fleet of diesel dump trucks, trailers, support vehicles and off-road construction equipment.
We are seeking a talented, skilled and responsible mechanic with 10-plus years of experience. Candidate must be self-motivated and have own tools. Candidate must be able to work in an indoor/outdoor environment, be hands-on, detail oriented and reliable. The Lead Mechanic will possess great communication skills to successfully coordinate the repair of vehicles and construction equipment. The Lead Mechanic will work along-side other staff in this growth-oriented
The fleet repair and maintenance shop is an integral part of the company and is considered a service/support facility designed to provide timely, quality maintenance and repairs to the company fleet. The availability of good working vehicles and equipment is crucial to the success of our organization.
General Responsibilities:
- Repair equipment as per work order assigned by the Shop Manager, or Operations Manager including documenting completed repairs and maintenance for recordkeeping.
- Inspect, diagnose vehicles and equipment for other defects not noted on repair work order, and perform subsequent repair of other defects.
- Perform 90-Day DOT Maintenance and Safety Inspections.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area and practice safety precautions.
- Request necessary parts to complete repair from the Shop Manager.
- Perform field service calls when required.
- Inform the Shop Manager of low quantities of shop supplies.
- Inform Shop Manager of defective or broken shop equipment or tools immediately.
Requirements:
- Ability to diagnose and repair diesel vehicles, small equipment, and large construction equipment.
- Good knowledge in both vehicle and equipment maintenance.
- Listening & observational skills.
- Time Management, Organizational and Planning skills.
- Inter-personal skills.
- Valid CA Drivers License, Class A License is a plus.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Bi-lingual in Spanish is a plus.
