Lead Electrical Engineer - Innovation (Experienced)
Job Description Naval Nuclear Laboratory is seeking a highly motivated Electrical Engineer to join our Instrumentation and Control – Advanced Development team. This team is responsible for fostering the development of innovative solutions for existing and future instrumentation and control (I&C) systems on US Navy aircraft carriers and submarines. Potential areas of interest include sensors, automation, artificial intelligence and machine learning, and model-based engineering. Specific responsibilities will include: Leading the organization in developing and executing a strategy to implement innovative I&C solutions intended to improve system performance, operation, or maintenance Working with a leadership team to solicit, prioritize, and communicate I&C development ideas within the organization Partnering with related organizations internal and external to the company Leading engineers working to advanced specific ideas through prototyping or subcontracting with industry partners Communication to the organization and customer through written and verbal presentations Are you interested in joining a company that offers great pay, excellent work-life balance, and job stability? Required Skills Senior Level:BS degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or computer science from an accredited college or university and a minimum of six years of relevant experienceORMS degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or computer science from an accredited college or university and a minimum of four years of relevant experience Principal Level:BS degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or computer science from an accredited college or university and a minimum of nine years of relevant experienceORMS degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or computer science from an accredited college or university and a minimum of seven years of relevant experience Preferred Skills Experience in Electrical design Experience in project management Experience with US Navy aircraft carrier and submarine instrumentation and control systems Strong leadership and problem-solving experience Ability and experience working on a multi-disciplinary team(s) Experience building a team and establishing connections with relevant partners Experience fostering the growth and development of team-members Experience with developing and executing strategic initiatives Experience working on innovative projects Strong written and verbal communication skills Willingness to learn new skills and apply them to current and future tasks
