Lead ICS Controls Engineer

The ICS Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting industrial control systems to ensure reliable and efficient operation of automation processes. This role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to integrate control solutions, enhance cybersecurity, and optimize performance across operational technology environments.

System Design & Implementation:

• Design, develop, and configure industrial control systems, including PLCs, SCADA systems, DCS, HMIs, and RTUs.
• Develop and optimize control logic, automation sequences, and process workflows.
• Ensure compatibility between ICS and related systems such as MES and ERP.

Maintenance & Support:

• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues with ICS hardware and software.
• Perform preventive maintenance to ensure optimal system performance.
• Manage system backups, updates, and upgrades.

Cybersecurity & Compliance:

• Implement and maintain cybersecurity protocols to protect ICS against threats.
• Ensure systems comply with industry standards and regulations (e.g., NIST, IEC 62443, or ISO 27001).
• Conduct risk assessments and mitigation strategies for OT environments.

Project Management & Collaboration:

• Work closely with process engineers, IT teams, and vendors to implement solutions.
• Lead or contribute to ICS-related projects from planning to execution.
• Document technical designs, test plans, and user manuals.

Training & Knowledge Sharing:

• Provide training and support to operations teams on ICS functionality.
• Stay updated on emerging ICS technologies and best practices.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in programming PLCs (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider).
• Experience with SCADA systems (e.g., Wonderware, Ignition, GE).
• Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, OPC, Ethernet/IP).
• Understanding of control system networking and architecture.
