Lead Instrument and Control Engineer

Wood is recruiting for a Lead Instrument & Controls Engineer to join our team in Perth, Western Australia as part of its Operations APAC West business. This is an initial 12 month opportunity which is expected to be an ongoing requirement for a key energy client. Wood delivers brownfields engineering, procurement, construction, optimisation and technical services to the oil and gas sector and enjoys long-term partnerships with some of the region’s most prominent producers, actively supporting operations in Western Australia, the Northern Territory and South East Asia. You will be reporting directly to the Instrument & Controls Discipline Lead and working across FEED / Execution to EPCM delivery, across some of world’s most technically challenging brownfields Oil & Gas projects for Wood's Engineering group. Please note you must be an Australian citizen or currently hold Permanent Residency (PR) and able to work lawfully in Australia without company sponsorship. Ideally, you will be a qualified engineer with an Instrumentation / Electrical Engineering degree from a recognised institution, and have relevant experience in either a Principal or Lead Instrument & Controls Engineer level role, within the Australian Oil & Gas industry within an EPCM / Engineering design office environment. In addition you will have: Knowledge of SPI for the development of I&C engineering deliverables, control systems, shutdown PLC hardware and software design Extensive design and knowledge of applicable codes and standards (both international and Australian) Proven experience managing risk during the design process consistent with technical and commercial requirements Excellent analytical, literacy and numerical skills Excellent communication skills with proven experience in client facing roles Be prepared to undertake site visits either onshore / offshore What will set you apart will be your in-depth Instrument knowledge supported by relevant experience in design and operations.
