We’re currently seeking a Lead Industrial Mechanic/Millwright to join our skilled team.
Position Overview
As a Lead Industrial Mechanic/Millwright, you will oversee the mechanical installation, maintenance, and repair of essential equipment, primarily conveyor systems, dust collectors, pumps, and more. This role is perfect for a skilled mechanic looking to apply their leadership abilities, working closely with both team members and client contacts to ensure smooth and efficient project completion. In addition to hands-on technical work, you’ll manage project timelines, documentation, and safety compliance, while training and guiding your crew on best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Equipment Installation & Repair: Install, repair, and adjust industrial machinery and pipeline distribution systems, focusing on conveyor systems.
- Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Identify and resolve equipment issues on-site and perform regular preventive maintenance.
- Leadership & Training: Lead a crew of 2-10 team members, providing guidance, support, and operator training while ensuring tasks are completed safely and efficiently.
- Documentation: Complete job-related paperwork promptly and keep detailed records of job expenses and weekly reports.
- Safety: Enforce adherence to all safety policies and protocols, ensuring a safe work environment for the team.
- Organization & Prep: Maintain and prepare company work trucks for daily operations, ensuring they are road-ready and equipped with necessary tools.
Requirements
- Certifications: MSHA Part 48 or equivalent; OSHA 10 or equivalent.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- License: Valid driver’s license with a clean MVR.
- Physical Ability: Capable of lifting 75 pounds, working at heights, and performing tasks in confined spaces and unique positions.
- Travel: Willingness to travel for out-of-town projects, sometimes for extended periods.
- Mechanical Skills: Strong grasp of mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, basic metal fabrication, and operation of shop equipment and personal tools.
- Flexibility: Available for overtime and weekend work when needed and adaptable to special projects.
Qualifications
- Experience: Prior experience as a lead mechanic or similar role, with the ability to guide and motivate team members.
- Safety Commitment: Deep commitment to safety and continuous learning of safety protocols.
- Customer Service: Strong ability to interact with client representatives and ensure satisfaction.
Suggested Tools
We provide essential safety training, but candidates should be prepared with personal tools, including steel-toe boots, a lockable toolbox, and hand tools. A complete list of recommended tools is available upon request.
