Lead Manufacturing Engineer - Energy / Battery

As we embark on the exciting journey towards serial production of our ground-breaking Lilium jet, we have an opportunity for a manufacturing leader with advanced experience in propulsion manufacture, to take on a critical role in our team! Your role and your team: As the primary technical expert, you will be the voice of the manufacturing engineering product team, focused on energy/battery manufacturing . Building strong partnerships with the Manufacturing and Engineering Leadership organization and acting as the primary interface for our Technical Leads and IPTs, reporting operationally to the Head of Industrial. You will be a key member of the Manufacturing Engineering Leaders community. The subject matter expert (SME) during trade-off discussions and decision-making sessions about manufacturability, considering scalability, material, methods, and costs. Representing the manufacturing community technically, you will confidently handle escalations and conflicts of interest to promote good manufacturing engineering practices and secure product Design for Manufacture/Assembly. Your Day to Day: Represent MEs and production in daily stand-ups and priority meetings. Drive capability acquisition of new technologies, systems, and factories to establish a state-of-the-art manufacturing process Actively contribute to design reviews and production readiness for new product introduction. Mentor your teammates as the resident expert for a variety of manufacturing processes. Ensure technology development demonstrator roadmaps include manufacturing feasibility trials during design development Your Profile: We are looking for a highly experienced manufacturing engineering specialist with a proven ability to lead both people, and technical decision making. Demonstrating technical credibility and deep expertise in batteries / energy production (preferably from aerospace or automotive manufacturing), you will bring a pragmatic and decisive approach to complex situations. Demonstrated deep involvement in high-impact programs from start of design, through ramp-up, to post production is essential. A strong collaborator with proven decision-making and conflict resolution experience, adept at managing cross-functional relationships with teams like Design Engineering, Quality, Program Management, Procurement and navigating competing priorities. Key Requirements: Relevant Bachelors degree and a minimum of 10 to 15 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, supply chain quality, or industrial engineering relating to battery / energy Excellent analytical capabilities with a drive to challenge the status quo. Eager to learn; puts the team first; resilient with a passion for achieving mission objectives. Accustomed to using failure as a learning tool and applying a high sense of urgency Hands-on mentality and heavy collaboration with production teams to secure continuous production flow
