Further, UK OC is the project management consultancy centre of excellence for Technip Energies.Job PurposeWe are currently seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer, Packages to be a lead engineer on projects and proposals, assisting with group development, executing engineering activities specific to package equipment, and traveling as needed for meetings, equipment testing, and site technical support.The ideal candidate for this position should have previous experience as a lead engineer, and is a member of the appropriate engineering institution, and preferably be a chartered engineer. Key Responsibilities Preparing and checking engineering procedures, specifications, and standards. Providing technical consultancy. Preparing and checking the basis of design, specifications, data sheets, requisitions, technical bid evaluations, and drawings. Providing technical recommendations on the selection of equipment to meet Project requirements. Aiding with the recruitment of personnel (interviewing and selecting). Checking and reviewing vendor proposals, documentations, and drawings. Acting as Lead Engineer on Projects and Proposals. Leading or participating in project, client, and vendor meetings. Providing input to proposals. Preparing and checking man-hour and material cost estimates. Providing input to Construction Subcontract and evaluating bids. Acting as a mentor to other employees. Assisting with Group development, deputizing for chief engineer. Executing other engineering activities specific to the Package Equipment technical area such as Equipment Testing, Technical Support to Construction Sites, On-site surveys, and data collection. Being prepared to travel in the UK and overseas for meetings, equipment testing, and site technical support to meet Project requirements. Typical background and experience required Extensive experience in petrochemical and related industries. Previous experience as Lead Engineer on major projects. Alternatively, extensive experience and superior expertise in a specialized subject or related industry. Experience gained within an Equipment Manufacturing or Operating Company is seen as an advantage. A thorough working knowledge of package equipment for various applications. Knowledge of requirements of other disciplines involved in the procurement, design, and installation of equipment. Commercial awareness to ensure economic and safe selection of equipment. Familiarity with European, American, and international standards applicable to the petrochemical industry. Minimum Qualifications: Degree or HNC with extensive experience. Member of the appropriate engineering institution. Chartered Engineer preferred, unless the candidate has extensive relevant experience. Experience: Extensive experience in petrochemical and related industries. Previous experience as Lead Engineer on major projects. Alternatively, extensive experience and superior expertise in a specialized subject or related industry. Experience gained within an Equipment Manufacturing or Operating Company is seen as an advantage.
