RAYUS Radiology is looking for a Lead Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team. As a Lead Nuclear Medicine Technologist you will provide leadership and management to technical services, assuring that services are provided within professional standards. Maintains positive work relationships with radiologists and other physicians referring to the company. Remains self-motivated to increase level of understanding and knowledge of the field, disease, and new procedures as they evolve.

This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week; day shifts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

\n

(75%) Patient Imaging

\n

    \n
  • Performs routine and advanced MRI, CT and/or DTI procedures on designated portions of the body for use by physicians in the diagnosing and treating of patient illness and/or injury with minimal amount of supervision or repeats
  • \n

  • Screens patient before exam for any precautions or contraindications pertaining to the examination
  • \n

  • Explains and prepares patients for procedures that will be performed, explaining the procedure, positioning patients so that the parts of the body can be appropriately scanned and providing patient support by talking to patients throughout the procedure
  • \n

  • Adjusts scan parameters correctly and as needed
  • \n

  • Accurately maintains patient records within Radiology Information System (RIS)
  • \n

  • Produces diagnostic images in assigned area and performs quality control tasks as assigned
  • \n

  • Converses with doctors, nurses, patients and family members as required
  • \n

  • Ensures a high quality of patient service is delivered
  • \n

  • Follows physicians’ orders precisely and conforms to safety regulations to protect themselves, their patients, and coworkers
  • \n

  • Promotes and motivates good customer relations with patients, physicians, visitors and other company personnel
  • \n

  • Maintains an orderly and clean work area to promote good safety habits for patients and co-workers
  • \n

 (20%) Imaging & Staff Support

  • Maintains equipment in good working order; cleans and disinfects equipment after each use
  • \n

  • Ensures comprehensive knowledge of company policies, procedures and protocols for all MRI technologists
  • \n

  • Ensures compliance with state regulations and internal policies regarding documentation and tracking of safety and licensing-related items
  • \n

  • Ensures compliance and enforcement of ACR and MQSA regulations
  • \n

  • Manages overall staffing levels for adequate coverage at all times
  • \n

  • Initiates and participates in staff performance evaluations, development of associates, performance improvement plans, disciplinary actions and/or termination of associates
  • \n

  • Establishes employee schedules to provide for planned vacations and time off
  • \n

  • Oversees and assists with training of new associates, providing resource and technical expertise
  • \n

  • Leads regular staff meetings and employee one-on-ones
  • \n

  • Keeps manager well informed of status of assignments and responds to requests and leadership of manager
  • \n

  • Helps manager gain support for unit goals and plans
  • \n

  • Monitors medical supply inventory
  • \n
