The position is based in the Electrical Engineering / Power Transmission & Distribution department, which has around 15 employees.Tasks that motivate:Lead, supervise and quality check Power System StudiesNetwork modelling of full transmission grids, local distribution and industrial grids, island grids or large-scale off grid hybrid systemsLiaison between system studies, network design and energy system modellingPrepare, check and approve detailed technical reportsMentor, coach and develop team membersProject management of complete study projects as well as of work packagesProvide support for proposal preparationLiaise and communicate effectively with team, clients and stakeholdersQualifications that impress:Degree in Electrical Engineering with power systems specializationAt least seven years of relevant experienceYou have in-depth knowledge of power network simulations in the following fields: Grid Integration StudiesSteady state studiesDynamic and transient simulationsGrid Code compliancePower quality studies/harmonics studies and filter designSoftware experience in DIgSilent PowerFactory, PSS/E, NEPLAN, ETAP and/or PSCADExperience in the following fields would be of benefit: Energy System Master Planning with PLEXOSGrid connection of Renewable Energy Plants and Large Scale Battery Storage Systems (BESS)High Voltage and Extra High Voltage SystemsKnowledge of the typical components of high- and medium voltage systemsPower system protection, schemes and devicesYou are fluent in English, Proficiency in German or French is a benefitPrevious experience of working in a consulting environment would be a benefitYou are used to working flexibly, independently and reliably in a teamYou focus on quality and ensuring excellence of deliverables for both project reports and proposalsYou have excellent written and verbal communication skills in particular considering email correspondence, technical report writing and presentationsYou are able to work in a fast-paced environment, often working on multiple projects at any one time.We serve projects in worldwide locations so the ideal candidate will be comfortable with travelling internationally for meetings and/or presentationsAn excellent employer:82% of our employees agree with the statement that ILF is a “great place to work” in Germany: Friendly corporate culture and : Many local but also live events characterize our cooperation and the majority of employees are on a first-name basis.
