Lead Process Engineer - Mining (National Staff)

Job description

  • Knowledge and experience in international PMC contracts related to the development and execution EPC Contracts.
  • Contracts Development Experience, supporting the drafting of technical scope of work of ITB’s, particularly for EPC scope and Lump Sum conditions.
  • Professional knowledge and understanding of particle technology (milling, crushing, flotation), hydraulic and pneumatic conveying, leaching, slurry hydraulics.
  • Experience in mining operations and / or design environments for mining projects are critical.
  • Relevant skills include, starting from the Heat & Material Balances by using process simulation software, the preparation of the process deliverables such as PFD, PI&Ds, Blowdown Calculation Report, Supply Spec for Packages, sizing of equipment, safety and control systems, , knowledge of instruments, provision the necessary data for data sheets and technical specifications.
  • Analyze ore characteristics, including particle size distribution, density, and mineralogy. Assess the requirements for different stages of the mining process, such as crushing, grinding, flotation, and dewatering.
  • Size and select appropriate equipment for each stage of the mining process, ensuring compatibility with ore characteristics and process requirements.
  • Familiarity with simulation software to model different scenarios and optimize equipment size and configuration.
  • Perform sensitivity analyses to determine the impact of varying ore properties and process conditions on equipment performance.
  • Work with equipment vendors to obtain detailed specifications and performance data. Review and compare vendor proposals to select the best equipment options. Prepare detailed technical specifications and datasheets for all process equipment.
  • Experience in P&IDs, Hazid, Hazop, EIA, 3D Models multidisciplinary reviews.
  • Preparation and hands-on experience in Process engineering documentation (specifications, philosophies, equipment data sheets, etc.), including training/mentoring of local staff, where applicable.
  • Experience in pre-award technical activities, involving qualification of Bidders, would be preferable.
  • Contracts Development Experience, supporting the drafting of technical scope of work of ITB’s, particularly for EPC scope and Lump Sum conditions.
  • Qualification

  • Must have sound knowledge and understanding of technical terms and conditions.
  • Familiar with all phases of EPC Contracts.
  • Awareness of compliance and audit processes.
  • Ability to identify changes and improvements to the technical documentation and procedures to reflect Client’s changing requirements.
  • Knowledge of computer based systems including, CAD, Database Management systems, Microsoft Office or equivalent software packages.
  • Be proactive, a self-starter and ability to work without supervision.
  • Systematic thinker and good organizational skills/ time management.
  • Strong personality with ability to be firm and persuasive without authority.
  • Team player within and across functions.
  • Sensitive to Client’s requirements and Client-focused.
  • Education: Bachelor degree in process / chemical / mining engineering is minimum requirement; Master degree preferred

    Language skills: Russian and English are mandatory Kazakh is advantageous.
    Professional experience: Min 10 years – technical experience; Min 5 years – managerial experience
