Lead Project Engineer

Job Description

A Sheffield based consultancy who specialise in fibre technology solutions for multiple industries are currently looking for a Contract Project Engineer with a background being a lead in small teams to help with a new project.

Logistics:

IR35 Status: Outside

Rate: Flexible

Onsite requirements: hybrid based with occasional visits to Sheffield

Contract Length: Initial 3 month with extensions

Project Engineer

Due to the team being small and working on multiple projects, the successful candidate will be a self-starter and willing to go beyond the job description to successfully deliver projects. My client is also looking for someone who is able to take control of the project, working not just on the technical side but also leading discussions with end clients, reporting to technical director and evaluating design risks and reviews.

Skills overview:

• Over 10 years’ experience in project engineering with a background in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering
• High level design and design management (able to take sole responsibility of concept designs)
• Engineering calculations
• Evaluating design risks and proposing mitigations
• Researching technologies and summarising findings
• Drafting reports to a high standard of quality
• Contributing to the maintenance of project plans
• Acting as technical lead with suppliers, end clients and internal team
• Systems Architecture
