Key Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in all stages of bankruptcy cases, including Chapter 7, Chapter 11, and Chapter 13 filings.
- Prepare, proofread, and file legal documents such as petitions, schedules, motions, and pleadings.
- Maintain and organize case files, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Conduct research using PACER and other legal databases.
- Manage attorney calendars, schedule meetings, and track important deadlines.
- Communicate professionally with clients, courts, and opposing counsel.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years as a Legal Assistant, with bankruptcy experience strongly .
- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software. Knowledge of bankruptcy procedures and ECF filing systems is a must.
- Attributes: Excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Education: Associate degree or equivalent; paralegal certification is a plus.
