About the role: The role will contribute to implementing the team in the Italian renewable market, by supporting Corporate tasks and Development activities to achieve the Ready to Build (RtB) status of the projects.
Main Responsibilities:
• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating land contracts (as purchase, surface right and wayleave agreement), land agent agreements, and engineering agreements.
• Providing legal support on administrative and permitting procedures
• Providing legal advice on M&A transactions, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships in the renewable energy sector.
• Managing legal matters related to regulatory compliance and environmental permits.
• Supporting potential resolution of legal disputes and negotiations with suppliers, customers, and business partners.
• Offering legal advice on corporate governance and compliance requirements.
• Managing relationships with external law firms with established collaborations.
Required experience
• At least 3-5 years of combined professional experience working (directly or indirectly) in the renewable industry. Ideally, the candidate will have a solid background in the development of renewable energy projects in Italy and corporate legal advisory.
• The candidate must be familiarized with key aspects, features and issues associated with the development of renewable energy utility scale BESS and/or PV projects in Italy (experience in other technologies such, H2, Wind, etc. can also be a benefit) from origination to achievement of required permits and licenses.
• Assistance to various corporate functions on matters such as contracts, regulatory compliance, legal risk management, and governance.
Required Skills
• Law degree and qualification to practice as a lawyer
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the renewable energy sector or a related industrial field
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a strong business-oriented mindset
• In-depth knowledge of commercial, administrative and corporate law, with a particular focus on renewable energy regulations
• Ability to work independently and manage complex projects in a dynamic environment
• Familiarity with permitting process and interaction with local and federal authorities and with external technical, legal, and financial advisors
• Strong verbal and written communication, presentation, and written skills
• Experience in working with a diverse range of cultures and relationships across shareholders, colleagues, clients, and stakeholders
• Commercial awareness and good teamwork attitude
• Availability to travel
• Excellent Italian and English both written and oral Education
• Bachelor’s degree in legal field or equivalent experience required.
