Job Description

Background:

Our client is an industry leading global business based in the UK and are the main force behind media investment analysis globally. You’ll be part of a busy Legal team dedicated to advising the business on legal, regulatory, and commercial risks and assisting with exciting opportunities and growth while at the same time being efficient and advising in a pragmatic manner.

Key Responsibilities:

Preparing and negotiating a wide variety of commercial contracts, both in the UK and globally. Taking responsibility for client and media agency contracts globally.

Taking ownership of/working with the General Counsel on ad-hoc projects covering a wide range of areas including data protection, property, IP, insurance, and employment matters.

Preparing and maintaining standard contract templates and getting involved with other projects aimed at improving the Legal team’s efficiency and its ability to support the business in an agile and efficient way.

Assisting with corporate matters such as acquisitions and disposals and intra-group reorganisations.

Support with legal training projects aimed at improving understanding of legal risks by the business as a preventative measure.

Assisting with the preparation of regular legal briefings on various compliance and regulatory issues.

Instructing and liaising with external legal counsel as required from time-to-time.

Supporting the General Counsel to train and supervise the team of Paralegals.

Skills Required:

  • Qualified Solicitor of England & Wales with 3 to 5 years PQE.
  • Existing in-house experience preferred but not required.
  • Excellent technical legal skills, especially first-class drafting and interpretative abilities and experience of commercial contracts and data protection law.
  • Ability to provide concise, clear, and commercial advice to the business.
  • A willingness to operate out of your comfort zone and the motivation to play a proactive role in developing the business legal function.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative way with various partners across the globe. Be able to challenge in a compelling and detailed manner when required.
  • London Offices - 2 days office based.
