Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Operational duties to include coordination with shippers, customers, truckers, airlines and relevant parties for end to end management of shipments.
- Effectively execute the coordination of air and ocean shipments - including booking, planning, documentation, and tracking.
- Maintenance of files; production of internal documentation; updating shipment statuses; assisting and advising customers of shipment status; arranging deliveries; processing and distributing invoices; dealing with e-mail queries from customers; as well as ensuring that excellent standard of data accuracy is maintained in a timely and efficient manner.
- Complete process of shipment includes arranging for pick-up or inland transportation, booking, document preparation (bill of lading, invoicing, certificate of , export declaration and/or AES, if applicable) follow-up with tracking and tracing and maintain strong data quality requirements.
- Customer Service responsibilities include maintaining communication with vendor, shipper, customer, carrier and overseas offices throughout the process and choosing proper routing appropriate to the customer's needs.
- Abilities to request, then negotiate, freight quotations by providing shipment details and verified freight details.
- Maintain SOP (standard operating procedures) and customer profiles including key contacts, special requirements, contract rates and routings and services with carriers.
Qualifications
- Freight Forwarding experience
- Good working knowledge of domestic and international geography including countries, major cities, airport/seaports.
- Basic knowledge of U.S. Export controls and U.S. Customs regulations and other government agency requirements.
- Solid verbal and written communication skills with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong PC skills a must (Microsoft office, outlook, word, excel) including the ability to quickly learn and incorporate new and/or vendor systems and applications
- Must have problem solving skills and outside the box thinking for quick solutions to action.
- Must have initiative to work and does not require micromanaging
