Role Overview:
Responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing low-voltage systems, including security systems, fire alarms, access control, audio-visual equipment, telecommunications, and network cabling. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical wiring, troubleshooting, and system integration while ensuring compliance with industry regulations and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, terminate, and test low-voltage wiring.
- Set up and configure security systems, fire alarms, access control, and surveillance cameras.
- Troubleshoot and repair system malfunctions or connectivity issues.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Ensure installations meet local codes, regulations, and manufacturer specifications.
- Conduct system tests to verify performance and make necessary adjustments.
- Collaborate with contractors, electricians, and other team members on project sites.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and materials for job efficiency.
- Document work performed, system configurations, and project progress.
Required Skills and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years of low voltage experience.
- Technical certification or vocational training in low-voltage systems .
- BICSI, NICET, or manufacturer-specific certifications .
Capabilities:
- Knowledge of low-voltage systems, cabling, and wiring methods.
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and blueprints.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with industry standards and safety protocols (NEC, BICSI, NFPA, etc.).
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in various environments, including heights and confined spaces.
Working Conditions:
- Indoor and outdoor environments with exposure to high and low temperatures
- Potential exposure to noise, dust and chemicals
- Must be able to bend, climb, lift heavy tools and materials, and work in confined spaces.
- Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, or working in awkward positions.
