Machine Operator (Night Shift)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator to join our client in Reading on a Temp-Perm basis working night shifts. Our growing client are offering a salary up to 34kp.a, along with great benefits such as a production bonus scheme, profit related bonuses, 20 days holiday+bank holiday and career progression opportunities.

As a machine operator, you will play a crucial role within our organisation, working closely with other operatives, setters, and supervisors. This role offers opportunities for growth, including the potential to learn machine setting and progress within the organisation. You will be expected to work day shifts when you start for training before working nights!

As the Machine Operator you will benefit from all the below:

• Temporary- Permanent Opportunity
• Salary between 30-34kpa
• 22.00 - 06.00 Sunday to Thursday (5 nights per week).
• Day shifts will be on a weekly rotation basis: 6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm
• 20 days holiday + bank holidays
• 37.5 hour working week
• 2x paid 15 minute breaks
• 5% Production bonus (Monthly once permanent)
• Bonus scheme based on company performance (Quarterly)
• 5 days for emergency leave after 1 year of work (once permanent)

As the Machine Operator you will be:

• Responsible for the quality of parts produced and ensure they conform to company standards and product drawings
• Running machines to achieve cycle times as recorded on the route cards
• Assistanting in maintenance on machines as and when required
• Transporting goods within the factory, assisting with stock checks and general housekeeping within the manufacturing unit

We are looking for a candidate with a positive "Can Do" attitude who pays close attention to detail and demonstrates accuracy in their work. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, able to work independently, and thrives in a team environment. The ideal candidate will ideally have previous experience working in a Manufacturing/Engineering environment.
