Advert Text Main Duties and ResponsibilitiesThis role is based at a Department of Agriculture, Food and Marine Farm in Co. Kildare andwill include the following: To work as part of a team and on your own initiative reporting directly to the Hard Services Manager. To liaise with our client on all matters of our FM delivery and feedback to FM Managers. To produce periodic reports based on PPMs, Projects, Activities and Events. To ensure that the day-to-day engineering maintenance is achieved across the site. To carry out and/or assist pre-planned and reactive maintenance works in all areas of the site on a wide range of building systems and equipment. To utilise a CAFM/Helpdesk Software System for the coordination of all maintenance activities. To coordinate with hard and soft-services managers to ensure that areas of responsibility are appropriately serviced, maintained and are fit for purpose. To consult and work with the company’s health & safety team to ensure that all work is carried out safely. To ensure all aspects of operator and contractor induction and training are maintained and recorded. To co-ordinate and supervise in-house and contractor activities, ensuing risk assessments, method statements and permits to work/Hot Works Permits are in place. To maintain a comprehensive record of maintenance activities, including the annual calibration / validation and certification of relevant equipment. To adhere to our quality system with respect to procedures and site documentation. To liaise with engineering management, specialist sub-contractors, engineers and with other disciplines to ensure the efficient operation of the plant / area without disruption to the client. To plan in advance when requiring assistance of the facilities management team to ensure works are completed in a coordinated manner. To adopt an environmentally friendly approach to all aspects of work and areas of responsibility. To liaise closely with the Client, particularly in relation to the planning and organisation of works that may affect the normal business activities of the site. To identify and specify remedial/additional works that may be required and obtain quotations / tenders for the remedial and project works. To ensure that OMM’s and Drawings are managed and updated as and when changes occur and the upkeep of the asset register. Qualifications and Experience Qualification and/or in-depth experience in construction industry is a prerequisite for this position. Licence, knowledge and experience to operate tractors and other farm plant is a prerequisite for this position. A proven track record in the maintenance of detailed mechanical & electrical building services with particular emphasis on Ventilation systems. Previous experience working in the Laboratory environment is advantageous. Experienced in the use of CAFM/Helpdesk Software Systems. A recognisable engineering qualification or the ability to demonstrate significant experience. Experience in the application and operation of Permit to Work systems. Computer literate, conversant with the major software packages, word processing, spreadsheets etc. Ability to manage projects from inception to completion, including documentation handover. Ability to train personnel on the buildings’ systems. Person Specification Good technical knowledge as well as the ability to project manage and multitask. Good oral & written communication skills and customer service skills. Full driving license. • Ability to cope well under pressure. Ability to exercise initiative and prioritise duties accordingly. Ability to work to a high standard against agreed timescales with limited supervision. Ability to develop systems of working that are truly customer focused and to actively seek and respond appropriately to customer feedback. Ability to produce solutions which reduce cost and satisfy customers. Ability to demonstrate effective communication and negotiation skills. Ability to meet and exceed, where possible, the targets set by management. Ability to think logically about issues and problems which arise during day-to-day working. To work and plan in a pro-active manner so as to minimize difficulties with the buildings’ critical systems. The offer of employment is subject to successful completion of Garda Vetting process by the employee. The employee will be required to submit a DNA sample (for elimination purposes) for inclusion in the National DNA Database managed by Forensic Science Ireland. The employee is required to accept, sign and adhere to a Non-Disclosure Confidentiality Agreement. You will be required to work across the campus and in all buildings on the campus as deemed necessary by management and the demands of the campus. The farm has an associated campus located approx. 30 minutes away and you may be required to carry out works there on occasion. Note, Transport is provided if this is the case. Ref: 11957
