Overview:
Our client is seeking a dedicated Maintenance and Safety Supervisor to oversee facilities management functions and workplace safety initiatives. In this role, you will ensure that the building, equipment, and grounds are well-maintained while fostering a culture of safety and compliance. You will work closely with the Plant Manager and Human Resources to manage facilities maintenance, implement safety measures, and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations. Requirements:

• Education:
  • Bachelor’s in business or a related field ; equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
• Experience Level:
  • Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment .
  • At least one year of experience managing a safety program is required.
• Technical Skills:
  • Basic knowledge of construction, plumbing, electrical repairs, and painting.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Familiarity with OSHA guidelines and safety protocols.

Skills:

• Bilingual in Spanish.
• Experience in managing Workers’ Compensation processes.
• Knowledge of hazardous material handling and safety compliance programs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilities Maintenance:
  • Supervise and coordinate maintenance staff to ensure timely completion of repairs and upkeep of facilities and grounds.
  • Oversee outside contractor projects to ensure adherence to specifications.
  • Maintain an inventory of tools, machinery, and equipment.
• Safety Management:
  • Serve as the primary contact for workplace injuries and oversee incident investigations.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and monitor compliance with safety rules.
  • Maintain the Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP) and coordinate safety committee meetings.
  • Ensure availability and distribution of personal protective equipment (PPE) and first aid supplies.
  • Manage fire safety systems and compliance with local and state safety regulations.
• Compliance and Reporting:
  • Prepare and maintain OSHA logs and submit required reports annually.
  • Monitor hazardous waste areas and coordinate necessary inspections.
  • Update evacuation procedures and ensure readiness for emergency situations.
