The role of the maintenance Assistant Manager is to oversee the daily maintenance activities of a facility, ensuring that equipment and machinery operate efficiently. They support the Maintenance Manager and team to ensure smooth functioning of all operations.
This role requires strong leadership, problem-solving skills, optimize processes, and maintaining safety and facility efficiency.
This role involves overseeing routine inspections, preventive maintenance programs, and troubleshooting of equipment to ensure continuous operation.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all equipment and facilities.
- Coordinate and prioritize maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and disruptions to operations.
- Lead and guide maintenance technicians, ensuring proper completion of maintenance tasks and adherence to safety protocols.
- Assist in diagnosing equipment malfunctions and oversee repairs to minimize downtime.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, equipment records, and performance reports.
- Assist in training and developing the maintenance team on equipment operation and safety procedures.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify and address maintenance needs and potential issues.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
- Assign tasks, monitor progress, and evaluate performance of maintenance staff.
- Manage the inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, and spare parts.
- Ensure timely procurement of necessary materials to support maintenance operations.
- Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance and repair services and monitor the quality of work performed by third-party service providers.
- Generate reports on maintenance performance, equipment reliability, and other key metrics.
- Communicate regularly with maintenance manager to provide updates on condition of equipment, machinery, and building systems.
Minimum Qualifications or Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent. A degree or certification in industrial maintenance, mechanical engineering, or related field is a plus.
- Minimum of 3years of experience in industrial maintenance, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, as well as hands-on experience with equipment repairs.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and provide timely solutions
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Proficiency in maintenance management software and tools.
- Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and building systems.
- Ability to plan and coordinate many projects simultaneously.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Must be willing to travel.
Qualifications:
- 5 years’ experience on maintenance management.
- Relevant certifications such as Certified Maintenance Manager (CMM) or similar are .
- Understanding of OSHA Standards, IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001.
- Strong project management skills, including planning, execution, and reporting.
- Experience managing capital projects, budget preparation, and cost control
- Proven track record of managing large-scale maintenance projects and leading diverse teams.
