Purpose:
Position is responsible for leading, scheduling, and coordinating the work of maintenance staff and contractors to assure that assignments are completed in a safe and cost-effective manner. Provides support to the Maintenance Manager and interfaces with other departments to keep plant equipment maintained in good operating condition and ensures maintenance department productivity is high.
Job Functions & Accountabilities:
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS - ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- The maintenance coordinator function is the hub from which all planned maintenance activity is coordinated
- Principal contact and liaison person between Maintenance and Production and other supporting departments in relation to determining the timing for execution of planned maintenance work.
- Responsible for creating the Maintenance Daily/Weekly Schedule
- Support Maintenance Department Key Performance Indicators
- Create projects for maintenance replacement in-kind
- Fill out Management of Change, as required
- Identifies and coordinates all maintenance work for annual plant shutdowns.
- Manages SAP and supports other staff in effectively and efficiently utilizing SAP
- Coordinates and assists in the work activities of the maintenance staff to ensure that published plans and schedules are met.
- Assists in the development of maintenance department plans and schedules (i.e. maintenance objectives, overtime, vacation, etc).
- Develops annual performance plans in conjunction with Maintenance/Engineering Manager for each direct report, evaluates adherence to the plan with each direct report at the end of the plan period.
- Coordinates and assists in emergency activities as required.
- Coordinates and assists in activities of contract maintenance and contractors that perform work in the plant.
- Maintains equipment, tools and company property within established standards and specifications.
- Leads and implements corrective action activities for various types of equipment when an out-of-control situation occurs.
- Coordinates, obtains, and assists in purchasing all materials, supplies, and services for the departments needs.
- Initiates purchase requisitions.
- Contacts vendors/suppliers to obtain quotes/bids.
- Initiates purchase requisitions.
- Coordinates and assists in the maintenance of records, procedures and data.
- Coordinates predictive and preventive maintenance systems to ensure compliance and accuracy of completion.
- Participates and initiates the development of improvements to the process, procedures, tools, and equipment.
- Maintains SAP maintenance system in accordance with established procedures.
- Participates in all required training and provides training assistance as required.
- Ensures safe work systems are adhered to.
- Provides performance feedback to crafts technicians and manager to ensure department success
- Continuously seeks ways to improve performance of our plant's operation and ensures that your customer's (both internal and external) needs are met.
- Supports and ensures compliance with Integrated Management System (ISO 9001/14001/45001)
- Provides hands on help to craft persons when needed.
MARGINAL
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Supervises:
Provides leadership in coordinating activities of the maintenance technicians.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Minimum five years related experience OR is four-year college degree in Engineering is required.
- Proficiency in SAP is required (i.e. create notifications, work orders, evaluating PMs, setting up PMs, changing frequencies on PMs, finding parts, releasing, technically completing and closing maintenance work orders, adding repair notes to maintenance work orders, etc)
- This position requires an individual with excellent oral and written communications skills, strong organizational, analytical, technical and leadership skills; problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills, independent judgement skills, inter-personal and people management skills and committed to continuous improvement
Work Conditions:
Chemical Plant/Manufacturing environment. An extensive amount of time is spent on the floor in a manufacturing plant environment. Plant environment is a multi-acre site. Typical daily assignments are physically demanding, requiring balancing, standing, cleaning, reaching, visual discernment, crawling, climbing, twisting, turning, squatting, kneeling, pushing, pulling, full respiratory function and lifting.
