Maintenance Director
Position SummaryThe Maintenance Director is responsible for the overall operation of the Maintenance department in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards.Education, Experience, and Licensure Requirements Must have high school diploma or equivalentMust have a minimum of two (2) years’ maintenance experienceMust have proven knowledge of various mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systemsMust have the ability to read and interpret blueprintsMust be knowledgeable of local building codes and ordinances Specific Job Requirements Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such actionMust be knowledgeable of practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in the post acute care facilityMust have the ability to implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the departmentMust perform proficiently in all competency areas including but not limited to: patient rights, and safety and sanitationMaintains professional working relationships with all associates, vendors, etc.Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential informationMust understand and follow company policies including harassment and compliance proceduresDisplays integrity and professionalism by adhering to Life Care’s Code of Conduct and completes mandatory Code of Conduct and other appropriate compliance training Essential Functions Must be able to plan, supervise, and direct maintenance programsMust be able to schedule preventive maintenance, repairs, and replacementsMust be able to inspect equipment/systems regular for proper functioning and safetyMust be able to run errands, handing incoming and outgoing freight, and lift and move heavy furniture and equipmentMust be able to recruit, select, hire, evaluate, train, counsel, and supervise maintenance staffMust be able to perform duties as a Maintenance Assistant as neededMust be able to effectively manage and operate within budgetMust exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patientsMust be able to assist in the evacuation of patientsMust demonstrate dependable, regular attendanceMust be able to concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgmentMust be able to communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary teamMust be able to sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hoursMust be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
