Maintenance Electrical Engineer
Maintenance Electrical Engineer Contract Length: 12 Months Location: Perth Role Responsibilities: Deliver maintenance engineering services that meet client expectations and comply with applicable statutory and regulatory requirements. Review existing maintenance strategies to ensure alignment with performance standards, guidelines, and regulatory requirements. Develop and optimize maintenance strategies for project-specific new equipment. Prepare CMMS Maintenance Master Data in line with client guidelines and current practices. Identify critical spares, manage the critical spares register, and maintain appropriate inventory levels across the state to enhance asset reliability. Develop and review BOM/EPL and perform equipment criticality assessments. Audit SAP/MAXIMO/JDE systems for project-specific material and catalog project materials according to client guidelines. Initiate Maintenance and Material Master Data change requests within these systems. Prepare and update PRT/MWI (maintenance work instructions) to support equipment maintenance. Provide technical support and advice to team members and project teams, participate in peer reviews, and consult with relevant resources as needed. Implement improvement initiatives based on recurring issues and monitor compliance with statutory requirements for maintenance work and equipment at Major Hazard Facilities. Provide leadership to operational and maintenance teams while fostering open communication regarding safety, production, cost, and improvement ideas. Coordinate inspection programs for process piping, vessels, and equipment in compliance with Australian and international standards. Review engineering specifications and drawings to identify and implement design modifications that enhance plant reliability. Resolve discrepancies between project requirements and client needs. Identify and address issues or problems, develop innovative solutions, and seek assistance when necessary. Stay up to date with advancements and innovations in the discipline. Experience: A proven track record of delivering maintenance improvement projects and managing diverse portfolios of improvement initiatives. Strong knowledge of the fundamentals of maintenance engineering and a basic understanding of other disciplines. Extensive experience with FMECA, RCA, and RCM methodologies. Proficiency in computer management systems (CMMS) such as SAP, MAXIMO, or JDE, and familiarity with various maintenance strategies. In-depth knowledge of applicable local and international standards, statutory regulations, and compliance requirements. Exceptional customer focus and the ability to consistently meet client needs and expectations. Capacity to manage changes to tasks and the work environment, while supporting others in adapting to change. Ability to identify issues, develop timely and innovative solutions, and demonstrate initiative and continuous improvement. Experience managing multiple projects of varying size and complexity and contributing effectively to multi-disciplinary teams. Programming skills in Python or R (preferred but not essential). Significant technical and practical experience in maintenance engineering within the Oil & Gas or similar industries, including multi-disciplinary project experience. A recognised engineering degree in Electrical Engineering. Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant discipline, management, project management, or equivalent are advantageous.
