I am recruiting for a leading UK laundry service provider. They have a turnover of over £3.58 billion a year and are constantly growing at a fast pace. The next step is for you to become one of the important maintenance engineers at the site in Northfleet.
The current engineers are hardworking and passionate with a focus on continuous improvement and dedication to the job.
My client is looking for a a skilled maintenance engineer to join the team and ensure the smooth operation of our machinery. You will play a key role in carrying out preventive maintenance (PPMs), managing corrective work orders, and addressing mechanical breakdowns during both day and night shifts. You will work to ensure that the large washers, ironers, and boilers operate efficiently to support production from 7:00 AM to 11:30 PM.
Key Responsibilities:
- Day Shift (5:00 AM – 5:00 PM):
- \n
- Keep all machinery running efficiently during production hours (7:00 AM – 11:30 PM).
- Perform corrective work orders and quickly resolve mechanical breakdowns.
- Address any mechanical engineering issues that may arise.
- Complete PPM tasks as time permits during non-production hours.

- Night Shift (5:00 PM – 5:00 AM):
- \n
- Carry out PPM tasks during the quieter hours (12:00 AM – 5:00 AM).
- Handle any emergency breakdowns or urgent maintenance issues.
- Ensure all equipment is ready and maintained for the next production day.

- Key Machinery Supported:
- \n
- Large washers and ironers: Working on a 3-part system (feeder, ironer, folder).
- Boiler: Responsible for heating the ironer; boiler knowledge is ideal.

Desired Experience & Skills:
- \n
- Proven experience in mechanical maintenance, ideally within a production or industrial setting.
- Boiler knowledge is highly desirable.
- Experience with large washers and ironers (including feeder, ironer, and folder systems).
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work both day and night shifts as required.
