Maintenance Engineer

I am working with a leading supplier in the fresh produce industry. They source a diverse range of fruits and vegetables from trusted growers, and deliver top-tier products to retailers and food service providers across the region.



About the Role



They are seeking a Mechanically Biased Maintenance Engineer to join their close-knit team. In this key role, you will maintain and optimise all automated packaging machinery, ensuring smooth operations in a fast-paced environment. Monday to Friday, 10-hour day shifts (47.5 hours per week)

Competitive salary of circa £42,500/year (or hourly pro-rata) with flexibility for the right candidate.

Weekend work is voluntary but requested on a rota basis during busy periods or for major engineering projects requiring downtime.

Responsibilities



Perform routine maintenance and repair of automated packaging machinery.

Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues to minimise downtime.

Collaborate with production teams to ensure seamless operations.

Contribute to engineering projects, particularly during periods of downtime.

Uphold the company's standards of safety, quality, and sustainability.



Requirements



Proven experience as a mechanically biased maintenance engineer, preferably in a production or packaging environment.

Strong understanding of automated machinery and mechanical systems.

Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Willingness to participate in weekend work on a rota basis when required.

Commitment to teamwork and contributing to a positive work culture.
