The Role:
As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of machinery across production processes. Reporting to the Engineering Leadership team, you will work within a dedicated shift team to minimize downtime and improve processes. Your proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement will be essential in maintaining high-quality production standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Preventative and Reactive Maintenance: Conducting planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and addressing reactive issues to ensure optimal performance of machinery.
* Team Collaboration: Working effectively within a supportive, flexible shift team, contributing to process, product, and quality improvements.
* Fault Diagnosis & Correction: Troubleshooting mechanical and electrical faults, coordinating with other teams to resolve major breakdowns, and taking corrective actions.
* Incident Coordination: Leading incident management when significant breakdowns or technical issues arise.
* Continuous Improvement: Supporting engineering projects and driving initiatives to improve safety, productivity, and quality within the operation.
* Cost Ownership: Taking responsibility for materials, budgets, and other related costs in the engineering department.
Skills and Qualifications:
* Extensive experience in multi-skilled maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
* FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) experience is highly desirable.
* HNC, City & Guilds, or equivalent qualification, or a time-served apprenticeship.
* Strong knowledge of both mechanical and electrical systems.
* A proactive and eager attitude towards problem-solving and improving processes.
Benefits and Package:
* Competitive Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience.
* Shift Pattern: Flexible double-day shift pattern with a 42-hour working week.
* On-Call Compensation: £100 for each week on-call (one week every three weeks), with time off in lieu for any call-outs.
