Maintenance Engineering Technical Coordinator

As the Maintenance Engineering Technical Coordinator, you will work within the Maintenance Engineering Group, which provides maintenance and technical support to Canada’s largest Oil Refinery. Your goal will be to work closely with the Maintenance Engineering Group Lead to provide support to the Engineers in the team by mentoring, developing and presenting in-house training, performing assessments on operating equipment, updating/developing internal standards, and supporting the development and review of Engineering Work Orders. What we offer: Work Environment – Work and grow within Canada’s largest Refinery, with strong safety culture, access to a fitness facility, an onsite medical team, and a café.Competitive Compensation – Including an annual bonus plan, and pension plan.Flexible Benefits Plan – in effect from day one and offers three levels of coverage to select from to meet your unique, personal needs.Wellness Support – With an annual wellness allowance, paid personal care days and a 24/7 Employee & Family Assistance ProgramOpportunity to give back to some amazing causes in our community – Choose when and where to make an impact with a paid volunteer day, company volunteer opportunities, and a donation matching program.Your Responsibilities:Mentor Junior Engineers.Support the Maintenance Engineering Group Lead as required.Review and approve EWO’s and MOC’s.Provide engineering technical support to the Maintenance Engineering Group.Perform piping flexibility analysis.Perform ASME VIII code calculations.Perform Fitness for Service Assessments in accordance with API 579.Develop and provide in house training to Maintenance Engineers.Develop/update internal instructions and standards.Develop Engineering Work Orders for high priority or large-scale scopes of work.Develop Request for Quotation packages for equipment replacements.Manage competing priorities and tight deadlines.Participate in the Refinery On-Call rotation.Provide Engineering Leadership during annual Turnarounds.Your Skills:Confidence in making decisions considering competing priorities and tight deadlines.Work independently with strong attention to detail.Proven leadership/mentorship skills.Keen analytical and problem-solving skills.Thorough understanding of applicable ASME/API codes and Internal standards.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to identify continuous improvement initiatives/opportunities.Team orientedStrong organizational skills to ensure workload and priorities are managed.Self-motivated with a positive, solutions focused attitude.Your Experience:Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.8+ years of relevant industry related experience.P.Eng. designation is a requirement.Experience providing Engineering Leadership.Experience with relevant ASME codes: Section VIII, B31.3, PCC1, PCC2, etc. is required.Experience with relevant API codes: 510, 570, 579, etc. is required.Experience with design, repair, and alteration of piping and/or pressure vessels is an asset.Job Requirements - Work ExperienceEngineeringJob Requirements - EducationBachelors: Engineering
