Salary: $75,000- $78,000: Based on experience.
Responsibilities:
- Manages up to 3 employees in the Maintenance department. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Acts on the Plant Managers behalf as needed or as assigned.
- Responsible in always maintaining the facility and equipment in a safe and operational state of readiness to meet daily production requirements.
- Supervises the established preventative maintenance program which includes lubrication, inspections, and engineering sanitation schedules to minimize production down time.
- Participates in the selection, training, and development of the Maintenance department staff.
- Assists in the scheduling of Maintenance staff to support schedules, production, and non- production hours.
- Helps maintain the Maintenance department’s shop and equipment on an ongoing basis. This includes welding machines, overhead cranes, forklifts, pressure washers, accurpress brake’s, shears, saws, and paint pumps/ sprayers.
- Assists in purchasing and maintaining proper inventory levels of equipment spare parts. Reviews progress with Plant Manager on a weekly basis.
- Consults with Plant Manager on long- and short-term improvement needs on an ongoing basis.
- Assists the Plant Manager in managing the Maintenance department within all policy and budgetary guidelines.
- Facilitates open communication with each subordinate and department head to ensure equipment problems are addressed on a timely basis.
- Assists in maintaining comprehensive and complete Maintenance records, including preventative maintenance schedules, machine history, purchase orders, equipment manuals and capital expenditure requests.
- Contributes to the production of a consistent quality product through maintaining and updating facility engineering practices.
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships and two-way communication with co-workers and other personnel throughout the Company.
- Supports and participates in special projects as assigned.
