POSITION SUMMARY:


The Quality Manager oversees the continuous improvement of Envases Ohio products, ensuring they meet customer and internal requirements. The Quality Manager will use a systematic approach to review systems, processes, and competencies while identifying opportunities for improvement.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:


  • Improve and maintain quality control systems and standards.
  • Monitor and analyze quality performance
  • Inspect and test materials, equipment, processes, and products to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Directs and coordinates the company’s quality control program and quality team.
  • Conducts audits, creates audit finding reports, and recommends improvements.
  • Reviews customer requirements and ensures they are met & directs customer interaction and resolutions.
  • Root Cause Analysis & corrective process.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Proven experience as a Quality Manager or relevant role.
  • Required – Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Operations, Manufacturing, Chemical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering; in lieu of Bachelor’s Degree, minimum 4 years experience in a leadership role serving in an Quality Assurance managerial role plus the required years of experience listed below
  • Minimum 5 years extensive experience in the design, development and general operational oversight of a quality assurance program required; quality assurance experience in a manufacturing facility
  • Minimum 5 years extensive experience in product quality, quality system or program quality in high volume manufacturing environment
  • Minimum 2 years experience serving in a supervisory position with direct responsibility for the work and performance management of a team
  • ASQ CQM/OE, QE, CWI and/or Six Sigma Certification
  • Proven track record of quality assurance leadership at organization >50 people with field staff
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a 24-hour / 7-day week continuous operation
  • Knowledge of manufacturing equipment, controls and maintenance programs



GENERAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Proven record of transitioning products from prototype to production
  • Experience introducing new equipment and new processes into a production environment
  • Excellent knowledge of quality problem solving methods, Six Sigma black belt is a plus
  • Demonstrated strategic planning skills
  • Understanding manufacturing processes
  • Prefer data collection and analysis experience in a high volume automated manufacturing environment
  • Innovative leader with the ability to identify opportunities and influence organizations to gain support and overcome resistance with data and persuasion
  • Detail-oriented, ability to effectively handle multiple priorities, flexibility to reorganize and reschedule work on short notice to meet tight deadlines, have a strong quality mindset and enjoy working in a team environment; ability to maintain accurate, detailed records that will be audited periodically
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills for relaying data (verbally and in-writing) between other employees and clients
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at once with tight deadlines
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Must be able to identify and execute improvement opportunities through both process improvements and system improvements
  • Ability to take ownership and responsibility with little direction
  • Ability to be pragmatic in decision making; requires high integrity
  • Ability to effectively train people inside and outside their work group
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with others, friendly and personable
  • Preference will be given to qualified local candidates



SOFTWARE/COMPUTER SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:


  • Intermediate level of knowledge in basic hardware and software using of a variety of different computer operating systems such as Microsoft Office Work, Excel, OneNote, PowerPoint, Visio, Google Workspace, Outlook/Gmail and web-site software required
  • Working knowledge of ERP & SAP systems
  • Has the ability to learn new software systems and data management systems quickly
  • Proficient keyboarding and typing skills

ENVIRONMENTAL & PHYSICAL FACTORS:


The physical demands and work environment described below represent the activities and surroundings of the position(s). Standard warehouse/manufacturing setting, engineering labs, and production areas; Physically required to regularly walk, sit, bend, twist, stand and reach; Requires flexible working hours and ability to work independently; Dynamic work environment, collaborating with teams in multiple locations; Constantly required to stand, walk, bend, twist, overhead lift and reach in a varied field environment; May lift, carry, pull / push, and reach for supplies and on occasion lifting (up to 50 lbs.) while performing various aspects of the job; continuous use of vision, hearing and speech; occasionally works indoors in a well-lighted air-conditioned office; Daily contact with the public, other departmental personnel and vendors/clients; Requires manual dexterity and repetitive use of keyboard/computer devices; Frequently works with hazardous waste, surplus and scrap materials, and is required to work outside and/or in an unaired conditioned warehouse.

HOURS / SPECIAL CONDITIONS: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm; present to fulfill job duties & meet operational demands/support; schedule may vary depending on plant operational needs thus flexibility is required which could include long days, occasional evening & weekends; minimal travel for business meetings or trainings may be required; Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.
