Maintenance Manager

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing and improving the upkeep, performance, and reliability of our facilities, equipment, and systems. This role involves leading a team of supervisors and technicians and ensuring that all maintenance activities are aligned with safety standards, operational goals, and company policy. A key focus will be on asset management, including strategic planning, preventative maintenance, utilization and life cycle optimizations of assets to reduce downtime and maximize efficiency.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive preventive and corrective maintenance program.
  • Lead the maintenance team, providing guidance, training, and performance management.
  • Create and oversee asset management strategies, including tracking, auditing, and optimizing asset performance through CMMS or similar systems.
  • Manage the repair, replacement, and upgrades of equipment through the capital expenditure process.
  • Lead root cause assessment for defects and equipment failures.
  • Planning and coordinating both internal and external projects/outages to ensure safe and successful executions on schedule and under budget.
  • Set Maintenance direction, priorities and strategies to maximize asset life cycle(s) and develop/execute EOL and Capex planning.
  • Monitor maintenance budgets, identify cost-saving opportunities, and work with accounting to develop department budgets.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support production goals and address operational challenges.
  • Analyze equipment performance data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.

Job Requirements

Education and Experience: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5 years of supervisory experience in production/maintenance management or other operations related activity.
  • Proficient in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and establishing maintenance and reliability systems.
  • Six Sigma training with tangible application .

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to prepare and deliver clear, concise reports that are understandable by the target audience.
  • Capable of driving for the achievement of business results
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced quickly changing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of equipment life cycles, predictive maintenance, and reliability-centered maintenance
  • Proven ability to build relationships, communicate effectively, and present ideas confidently and persuasively.
  • Strong computer skills that include proficiency with MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint) and CMMS.

Skills:

  • Ability to read, write, and speak English; bilingual in Spanish .
