Job Purpose:We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee the maintenance department and ensure the effective operation of our facilities and equipment. The Maintenance Manager will work closely with the Production team and other departments to maintain the highest standards of maintenance, safety, and operational efficiency. This position is vital to our mission of delivering quality products and minimizing downtime through preventive maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervision: Lead the maintenance team, including technicians and support staff, providing direction, training, and performance evaluations.
- Budget Management: Collaborate on developing and managing the maintenance budget, tracking expenses, and ensuring cost-effective operations.
- Maintenance Programs: Plan and execute preventive maintenance (PM), predictive maintenance (PdM), and corrective maintenance, coordinating with vendors to ensure the best pricing and timely deliveries.
- Equipment Inspection: Oversee the regular inspection of production equipment and facilities, identifying issues and coordinating repairs or replacements.
- Safety Compliance: Foster a safety-first culture, ensuring all team members follow safety protocols and regulations.
- Spare Parts Inventory: Manage and optimize the spare parts inventory to ensure the availability of necessary components for maintenance activities.
- Vendor Relations: Coordinate with external vendors for specialized services, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely work completion.
- Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives aimed at enhancing processes, reducing downtime, and improving equipment efficiency.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate maintenance records, including equipment manuals and performance data.
- Emergency Response: Quickly respond to equipment breakdowns and maintenance emergencies, ensuring timely and effective solutions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field .
- Proven experience in maintenance management, particularly in manufacturing or food processing environments.
- In-depth knowledge of maintenance best practices, safety standards, and compliance requirements.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Proficient in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Full-time, onsite availability in Waukegan, Illinois.
