Maintenance Mechanic A – Non-Exempt

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for repairing and maintaining complex machinery and mechanical/ electrical equipment for manufacturing of jet engine components. The Maintenance Technician ensures maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness, and has the ability to work independently in a fast paced, deadline oriented environment.

Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

- Trouble shoot issues & perform all repair, modifications, adjustments, and Preventive / predictive and routine maintenance on production equipment- CNC machines (i.e. VTL's, G&L's, Bullards, Broach Machines, Okuma, Mazak-Vari Axis, Mill-Turn, VBM’s, Mitsui Seiki).
- Troubleshoot issues and repair failures of production equipment.
- Electrical Repairs and / or replacement of control devices, including programmable logic controllers (PLC's), circuit boards, Servo motors and Drives, Machine Control experience with Fanuc, Mazak, Okuma, Siemens,
- Assist operation with testing and implementation of equipment.
- Assist operation with analyzing deviations and definition of machine related corrective actions.
- Initiate repairs and modifications as a function of Continuous Improvement and process stability (e.g. 6S, Rapid Improvement Events and Preventive Maintenance).
- Support all aspects of building maintenance/routine shop preventive maintenance as needed.
- Monitor and maintain environmental, health and safety equipment and systems for both production and non-production equipment as directed.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to read and interpret documents and drawings (e.g. blue prints, manuals, wiring diagrams etc.)
- Knowledge of OSHA standards: Lock Out/Tag Out, Hazard Communication, Fork Lift Certified, NFPA 70E Arc Flash (electrical safety)
- Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned such as TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) and etc.
- Performs other related duties or responsibilities as requested or required, whether or not specifically mentioned in this job description.
- Participate in training as required
- 5-10% Domestic Travel required
Physical Demands:
- While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- Must be able to lift, push, or pull at least 35 lbs.
- Regularly required to sit, stand, reach, bend, and move about our facility
Requirements:
- Must be a “US Person” as defined by US Government and able to work without restriction with ITAR related data.
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 5+ years experience as a CNC Maintenance Mechanic
- Associates Degree in Industrial Maintenance or similar two-year technical degree in a related field .
- Understanding of computer CNC software.
- 5+ years knowledge as a multi-craft technician in the following fields: Mechanics, Electrical, Electronics, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, PLC, CNC controls, drives, servo systems.
- Must be able to read, write, understand, and speak English at a functional level.
- Strong preventive maintenance background.
