Maintenance Mechanic - Food Industry





Are you a skilled Maintenance Mechanic looking for an exciting opportunity in the food industry? Our leading company, based in Secaucus, New Jersey, is seeking a qualified individual to join our dynamic team.





Position Overview: As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will leverage your technical expertise and troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve equipment malfunctions efficiently. You will work with Vertical and Horizontal form/fill/seal machines, as well as high-speed packaging equipment. Your role will involve troubleshooting PLC SLC 500, Control/Compact Logix 5000, and interpreting electrical and mechanical blueprints.





Key Responsibilities:





Diagnose and resolve equipment malfunctions to ensure smooth operations.





Work independently with minimal supervision, adhering to safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout protocols.





Utilize the four main principles of troubleshooting: Investigating, Evaluating, Repair, and Prevention.





Operate all shop equipment, including lathes, milling machines, welding equipment, and cutting tools.





Implement and manage preventive maintenance programs, including work orders and inspection routines.





Request and manage parts inventory.





Qualifications:





Technical knowledge and troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve equipment issues.





Experience with Vertical and Horizontal form/fill/seal machines and high-speed packaging equipment.





Ability to troubleshoot PLC SLC 500, Control/Compact Logix 5000, and read electrical/mechanical blueprints.





Proficiency in using shop equipment, including lathes, milling machines, welding equipment, and cutting tools.





Experience with preventive maintenance programs and parts management.





Excellent cognitive skills and ability to work under pressure.





Ability to work independently and complete tasks in a timely manner.





Experience:





One-to-two-year certificate from a college or technical school.





5 to 7+ years of related packaging experience and/or training in the food industry.





Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are a plus.





Compensation:





Individual compensation packages are based on various factors, including skills, experience, qualifications, and education.





Salary range: $65,000 - $75,000 per year, commensurate with experience.Could potentially go a little higher for strong experience/industry expertise.
