MAINTENANCE / PRODUCTION ENGINEER

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for working with maintenance on the reliability of the production lines. Key escalation person for mechanical components of the production lines. Liaison with the maintenance department for all PM activities, including reviewing and recommending enhanced preventative maintenance. Responsible for ensuring all drawings and documentation for all equipment is up to date and available. Ability to work with outside venders for procurement and fabrication of replacement components. Ability to work with OEM manufactures for periodic maintenance and troubleshooting of production equipment. Conducting and implementing engineering evaluations, new equipment or processes installations, design of manufacturing processes at Tower Laboratories. Recommend general improvements associated with the manufacturing processes at Tower Laboratories. These activities support operational requirements to maximize operating effectiveness as well as fulfilling the need to document manufacturing systems and satisfy regulatory requirements. Heavy emphasis on equipment’s uptime of meets customers’ needs.


POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Analyze the performance of existing equipment through time studies, downtime analysis and uptime statistics and provide a strategy for improvement of output and reduction of scrap
  • Work with maintenance staff to develop and implement PM programs to limit down time and unnecessary repairs
  • Conduct root cause analysis on equipment failures and implement corrective actions to prevent occurrence
  • Oversee maintenance manuals, repair history, change history and schematics
  • Recommend process and equipment upgrades, modifications and replacement where necessary
  • Coordinate continuous improvement of key production areas to streamline processes and improve capability
  • Escalation for maintenance team on major breakdowns
  • Setting and tracking KPI’s
  • Recommend predictive or any other maintenance programs
  • Write and perform qualifications and validations for various production equipment
  • Write and execute IQ, OQ and PQ on manufacturing equipment
  • Assist in the research, design and procurement of production equipment for Tower Laboratories
  • Provide layouts for equipment installation and oversee installation
  • Working with maintenance manager, develop and implement systems for operator training, operator qualification, preventative maintenance, spare parts control, reordering of parts and sourcing of parts
  • Monitor and follow through on changes and ensure the ROI is achieved
  • Other related responsibilities as assigned


SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in manufacturing engineering
  • Knowledge of general manufacturing plant systems
  • Computer literate with spreadsheet, databases and CAD
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Good problem analysis and problem resolution skills at both a strategic and a functional level
  • Ability to organize and manage projects
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and other plant personnel

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, mechanical or engineering discipline
