Maintenance Technician
Our client is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join the team for a 9-month contract based in Sheffield, working 7.00am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday.
This role involves the maintenance of a 7MWe organic ranking cycle (ORC) turbine unit, two biomass boilers, and auxiliary systems used for power from waste wood fuel.
You will be:
Maintaining and repairing main and auxiliary plant equipment to ensure and availability targets are met
Diagnosing and resolving mechanical/electrical faults across biomass systems
Conducting both planned preventative and reactive maintenance
Managing and supervising maintenance sub-contractors
Supporting improvement projects and continuous operational efficiency
Ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards
Using CMMS to record and plan maintenance activities
You will need:
Hands-on experience with large boiler plants, electricity generators, and flue gas treatment equipment
Strong understanding of pumps, motors, compressors, and ORC turbines
Familiarity with root cause analysis and proactive problem-solving
