Maintenance Technician

  • Performs preventative maintenance and calibration process for all equipment and instrumentation that requires scheduled PM and calibration (SOP-004).
  • Performs corrective or reactive maintenance as necessary to maintain productivity.
  • Assists with changeovers of the machines as scheduled to accommodate the production schedule.
  • Responsible for machine safety and proper operation, including adjustments to all machines.
  • Supports continuous improvement projects.
  • Handles facilities maintenance.
  • Performs & schedules facilities preventative maintenance.
  • Maintain the suitable completion of all paperwork necessary to guarantee the compliance with all approved standard operating procedures in regard to the Facilities Department (SOP-008).
  • Serve as a representative of the department on the Quality Committee.
  • Owns machine parts list and assists purchasing with maintaining proper stock for timely repairs.
  • Keeps work area in order, clean and safe.
  • Supports the safety committee to ensure all the guidelines and regulations are being followed.
  • Assists with purchase of new equipment.
  • Assists with any and all manufacturing and warehouse duties as needed.
  • Follows all OSHA and other safety guidelines.
  • Special projects as assigned.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required· High School Diploma with a minimum of 2 years experience in production environment.· Must have an understanding of electrical and mechanical concepts and the ability to use specialized tools such as mills and lathes.

  • Skills – Ability to speak, read and write in English. Spanish speaking a plus. Ability to read, write and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively after groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to read and interpret formulas

This position is onsite in Chicago, IL and pays $22.85-$26.27 per hour depending upon experience.
