Maintenance Technician

  • Hours: 1st or 2nd shift
  • Pay: $28 - $35 / hr depending on experience

OVERVIEW:

The Maintenance Technician conducts troubleshooting, repair and preventative maintenance services to production equipment throughout the plant. This position will perform general building maintenance tasks as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of packaging and production machines.
  • Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines.
  • Observe equipment concerns and initiate corrective action/repair.
  • Read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Respond to emergency breakdowns and provide timely repairs to equipment to ensure production schedules are met.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve issues and improve machinery performance.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts used, and equipment conditions.
  • Follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.
  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma.
  • Minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience in production machine and equipment repair.
  • Maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic components and systems.
  • Experience with PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and electrical systems is a plus.
  • Basic use of computers for recording information.
