SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:
Ensures efficient and dependable operation of machinery and equipment. Troubleshoots repairs and performs preventive maintenance requirements on plant equipment, machines, systems and facilities.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
- Improves and modifies equipment and systems to optimize production efficiency, productivity and quality.
- Assists with Tool and die development and run off - plumbing and pipefitting production and prototype dies.
- Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools.
- Installs new equipment to specifications as directed.
- Determines wear and changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring and inspection tools.
- Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools.
- Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment. Fabricates and welds fixtures, control panels and equipment.
- Ensures operation of repaired or new equipment by using customer requirements, manufacturer's instructions and technical knowledge.
- Documents actions by completing work orders and maintenance logs.
- Understands and actively complies with all safety requirements and policies and practices. Maintains safe and clean working environment.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Must have experience with stamping press machines
- Formal technical training and/or experience in industrial/equipment maintenance.
- High level of aptitude in a broad range of maintenance fields with a working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical and electronic systems.
- Experience should include: troubleshooting, electronic testing, problem solving, production repairs, equipment maintenance and installation, pipefitting, welding, PLC’s, CNC benders, Laser equipment, automated welding equipment, fabrication and machine shop equipment use.
- Position requires independent thinking and decision making, attention to detail and safety, and the ability to work flexible schedules.
