Peninsula Plastics is rapidly growing and we are looking to add an additional hardworking and motivated individual to take the role of Maintenance Technician on our 2nd shift.

Location(s): Must be able to commute to both Plants (Auburn Hills and Pontiac located 1 mile from each other)
Shift: 2nd (Training on 1st)
Pay: $22.00/hr up to $31.00/hr (pay is negotiable based on experience)
Job Description:
Maintenance Technicians support our Production Team by installing, maintaining, and repairing the equipment we utilize every day. Maintenance Techs will follow preventative maintenance schedules, assist in setting up equipment, maintain both facilities and help keep operations running on a day-to-day basis, and should be able to work on all aspects of Production Maintenance & Facility Maintenance.
Maintenance Technicians must be able to work well with others. They should be able to work well under pressure. On occasion, there are deadlines that are critical, where the entire Maintenance Department must work together cohesively to get the job done. We have 2 facilities, that are approximately one mile from each other, and Maintenance personnel will be required to travel as needed throughout their shift.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on Thermoforming machinery and equipment
- Inspect and test machinery and equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions
- Dismantle machine and equipment to remove and replace defective parts
- Participate in installing new equipment/machinery
- Perform special projects from time-to-time, as assigned
- Use of power tools, hand tools, Hi-Lo, and other various equipment
- Perform duties such as welding, cutting, and electrical repair
- Work with little supervision
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely fashion
- Log and record readings for equipment and procedures
- Follow safe working practices
Qualifications:
- MUST HAVE Previous experience in maintenance and plant operations (3+ Years)
- MUST HAVE your own tools and rolling toolbox
- Strong understanding of how to read blueprints
- Strong Electrical knowledge (HMI, PLC, high voltage, low voltage, machine controls)
- Strong Mechanical Knowledge
- Strong Carpentry skills
- Basic math Knowledge
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
- Strong Organization Skills
- Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills
