As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for handling our Annual Maintenance Club Tune Ups. Our team will train you on everything you need to know to thrive in your very own market. No previous experience with garage doors required, we got you!

The Job:
-
Handling our Annual Maintenance Club Tune Ups
-
Complete garage door Inspections, following a check list
-
Handling call back visits when we don’t get it right the first time
-
Focus on turning negative experiences into positive experiences
-
Educate customer on their door and findings from the inspection
-
Receiving POs for the warehouse and updating inventory with the exact counts
-
Assisting the Area Manager or Market Lead with load outs for techs and installers

Maintaining physical counts in warehouse and updating Inventory
Basic Requirements:
-
Be nice! I know, we shouldn’t have to say that, but we mean it.

Able to bend, climb, kneel and stand for long periods
-
Physically able to lift 50lbs
-
Valid driver’s license for at least 3 years with a clean driving record
-
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test (not including THC) and criminal background check
-
Knowledge of basic software such as navigation apps, Google etc as well as tablet and computer use
-
Basic knowledge of hand tools
-
GED or HS diploma not required, however reading skills as well as basic math skills (measurements, payments) are required.

Employment requires current eligibility to legally work in the United States
The Journey of a Maintenance Technician:
-
Apprenticeship starts in your local market where you will be paired with a technician for 3-6 weeks and you get to learn the ins and outs of the job. After a successful apprenticeship, you will finish your training at our A1 Training Academy in Phoenix, AZ.

A1 covers flights and accommodations for the duration of your training in Phoenix.
-
During the 4 week training, you will build upon the skills that you have acquired during apprenticeship.

Once you complete training, you will graduate to a junior maintenance technician. You will perform your duties as a technician in the market you chose to work in. Boom!
Pay, benefits, other cool stuff:

$21/hr + performance based bonus. Paid weekly.

Training weeks are compensated at $1,000/wk
-
$1K bonus at end of apprenticeship, + $1K bonus when you graduate from the Academy
-
Get your very own A1 wrapped van or truck with a gas card. Tools provided.

Steady job flow with your very own dispatcher to keep you busy

Interview Process:
Our interview process is not long, but it’s thorough. We want to make sure that each person who joins the team is the right fit for A1. And that we are the right fit for you!

After we review your application, you will be contacted for an interview with a recruiter if we want to know more. Plan on up to 45 minutes.

Next step is an interview with the Area manager. Plan on approximately 30 minutes.

Next step is when the fun begins: you will be invited to ride along with one of our technicians so you can see what life at A1 is really like. Plan on ½ day.
