Job Summary:

The Manager in the Audit department is responsible for providing leadership and supervision to audit staff (Associates, Senior Associates, and Supervisors) and managing external audit engagements. The role provides detailed analysis of findings and coordinates all analytical, technical, and research tasks. The role works with clients, partners, and audit staff in all areas of the audit process, including risk assessment, audit plan programs, and preparing audit reports.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Act as coach and mentor to all employees in the Audit department.
  • Handle onboarding, training, discipline, and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
  • Oversee the daily workflow of the Audit department.
  • Provide constructive and timely performance evaluations.
  • Provide oversight and direction to the employees in the Audit department.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Audits a company’s financial records, statements, and reports, verifying accuracy and consistency.
  • Audits a company’s information systems, assessing compliance with data security and storage requirements.
  • Provide direction in and feedback on the completion of audits.
  • Perform review of auditing findings and reports.
  • Make photocopies; mail, scan, and email documents; and perform other clerical functions.
  • Perform other related duties and projects as assigned.

Education and Experience:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Accounting, Economics, Finance, or Business.
  • CPA license.
  • Five+ years of experience in auditing within a public accounting firm.
  • Strong computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, etc. (We use Thomson Reuters Suite for audit work).

  • Experience in audits of employee benefit plans, 401(k) plans, or labor organizations.
  • Interest in and knowledge of data analytics.
  • Knowledge of payroll taxes and payroll systems.

  • Able to manage multiple tasks and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to meet client deadlines and provide excellent client service.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail oriented with strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Proficient with Thomson Reuters suite of software for audit work.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
  • Must have a reliable vehicle for travel to client offices, local travel is required 40-50% of time.
