The Manager of Customer Service and Purchasing provides direct management of professional personnel in the Customer Service and Purchasing departments. Initiates the planning, executing, controlling, and closing the work of projects to achieve specific objectives. Submits plans then allocates resources to meet objectives of the projects. Measured against performance plan goals and objectives. Responsible for delivering the intended outcome of the projects.
This role is responsible for managing all areas of the following departments:
· Customer Service: Includes but not limited to order receipt, confirmation, and entry of all customer purchase orders into the ERP system. In addition, monitoring and directing any customer inquiries to the proper people.
· Purchasing: Responsible for all purchasing activities including BOM raw materials, consumables and general company purchasing needs.
· Demand Planning: Working with customers, IMI salespeople and historic sales data for all products, develop a plan for manufacturing all IMI products, sterile and non-sterile, to meet our customers’ needs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Establish a firm chain of command for all direct reports within the scope of assigned departments. Ensure that performance plans are in place for key personnel.
· Establish and maintain long-term customer relations. Serve as primary contact and the face of IMI for customers wishing to order IMI products.
· Provides oversight of purchasing, purchase order creation, and suppliers, to ensure best price and lead time.
· Take the lead on developing/implementing a working MRP system.
· Evaluate and advise on the impact of short, medium, and long-range demand planning.
· Attend bi-weekly, or as needed, MRB meetings.
· Establish and maintain strong relationships with senior executives to identify their needs and seek a full range of business solutions.
· Provide on-time delivery performance, inventory stocking levels, and sales/forecast tracking as requested to senior management.
· Serves as back up for Director of Manufacturing Operations.
· Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree .
- At least 5 years’ experience in a supply chain role in medical devices or a similar regulated industry .
- A background in management required.
- Great organizational and time management skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal, collaboration, and communication abilities.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Physical / Mental Demands:
- Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
- Physical activity includes sitting, walking, standing, pulling, grasping, bending, squatting, reaching above shoulders and lifting up to 20 pounds.
- Work may require weekend and evening work.
- Work under stress in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be alert, able to concentrate, and use good judgment.
