Support Director Operations Accounting with implementation of department processes and procedures.

Role can be filled in Greensboro or Raleigh, NC

Hybrid: 3 days in the office/2 remote

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Review financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal and external monthly property and portfolio level financial statements to ensure quality and timely delivery
  • Manage internal and external client relationships (e.g. Asset Management, Owners and Operations teammates) while demonstrating an attitude of Serving Somebody!
  • Supervise and provide constructive feedback to Property Accountants with a focus on developing our in-house talent
  • Lead by example to foster our culture of Putting the Team First
  • Manage the annual audit and budget processes for Operations Accounting Department
  • Provide tactical implementation support with the maintenance and monitoring of property financial policies and procedures
  • Provide technical support with more challenging accounting issues (e.g. implementation of new standards, acquisitions/dispositions, fair value)
  • Provide assistance to outside accounting firms and assist Director of Tax by providing information necessary for timely completion by tax deadlines, including the delivery of K-1s

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Must possess strong accounting and operational background
  • Must have the ability to communicate succinctly & compellingly both verbally and in writing
  • Must possess analytical/conceptual thinking skills
  • Must be flexible, able to manage multiple priorities and able to shift resources and priorities as required

  • Must be experienced in analyzing data
  • Must demonstrate ability to provide exceptional customer service

  • Must be resourceful and well organized

Education and Background

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA certification preferred
  • 3+ years of hands-on accounting experience in a public accounting forum preferred
  • 3+ years property accounting experience preferred
  • Yardi experience preferred
