We are recruiting for a leading construction and development company specialising in affordable housing, education, care, and commercial projects across London and the South of England. The successful Managing Quantity Surveyor will be joining a contractor that is on an upward trajectory, targeting a £40m turnover this year and a projected £50m+ turnover within the next three years. With 13 active frameworks across London and the Home Counties, they require a strong Managing Quantity Surveyor with experience in delivering high-spec RC frame residential schemes.
Managing Quantity Surveyor Role:
As the Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will oversee the commercial management of a £7m JCT D&B residential project, which was inherited from another contractor. This project involves the completion of six blocks of flats, totaling 37 units at various stages of progress. You will look after surveyors and ensure that financial and contractual obligations are met efficiently.
Key Responsibilities for the Managing Quantity Surveyor:
• Lead and mentor a team of Quantity Surveyors, providing guidance and support.
• Oversee multiple projects, ensuring cost control and budget adherence.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships, acting as the main commercial contact.
• Manage risk and contractual obligations, ensuring compliance with JCT contracts.
• Prepare financial reports, forecasts, and valuations for senior management.
• Drive profitability and efficiency across all assigned projects.
• Negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure best value procurement.
