Job Summary: The Controls Engineer will monitor, maintain, and improve control systems for production equipment, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. This role requires technical expertise in both software and hardware systems, with a focus on supporting production operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitor the performance of all control and administrative software systems for production equipment.
- Manage access control to production equipment controls and software.
- Establish and oversee timely back-up procedures for production equipment control programs.
- Implement software changes to meet production objectives.
- Review system capabilities and provide technical support for upgrades and improvements.
- Train and assist users of controls-related software.
- Evaluate and recommend improvements to control and computer systems.
- Assist in specifying hardware and software for new equipment purchases.
- Provide support to production as needed.

Education and Experience:
- Four (4) year Technical degree () with two (2) to four (4) years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Technical Skills:
- Robots: Experience with ABB (S4C & IRC5 Controllers), Motoman (NX100, DX100, & DX200 Controllers), minimal experience with Fanuc and Kuka.
- PLCs: Proficiency in Allen Bradley PLCs (RSLogix 500 and Studio 5000) and Siemens PLCs (Step 7).
- Drives: Knowledge of Allen Bradley Power Flex, Indramat, Ormec, and Quantum III.
- Communication Protocols: Familiarity with EtherNet/IP, Profibus, and DeviceNet.
- Welding Experience: Understanding of MIG, Resistance, and HFI welding techniques.
- Networking: Extensive experience with TCP/IP networking.
- HMI Knowledge: Proficiency with Allen Bradley, Siemens, and Advantec HMIs.
- Programming Skills: Ability to work with Ladder Logic, Visual Basic, and C programming.
