The Role
We are seeking an Electrical Technician with a talent for building things from the ground up. You have a demonstrated proficiency in building, testing, and modifying electrical assemblies, from populating circuit boards to creating wiring harnesses to assembling complex systems. You are a fast learner, deliberate and organized in your approach, take pride in your work, and your final products are professional grade. You have a positive attitude, enjoy working hard, and function well under pressure within a small team.
Responsibilities
Under the direction of the production manager, you will be part of the production and prototyping team and work closely with the engineering team. Your responsibilities will include, but not limited to, the following:
- Build electrical assemblies from both detailed (production) drawings as well as back of the envelope (prototype) drawings.
- Prepare as-built drawings, documentation and procedures, packing lists, and QC related documentation.
- Perform QC on 3rd party and in-house components and assemblies.
- Test electrical subassemblies individually and as a part of the final assembly.
- Collect and interpret test data.
- Assist in updates to QA program and documentation.
- Follow manufacturing best practices for the marine environment and robotic systems.
- Design, set up and maintain dedicated workstations, tools, manufacturing jigs and tools.
- Maintain, clean, and organize production and prototyping floors.
Required Qualifications
- Approximately 3 years of hands-on experience with low voltage systems and wiring
- Proficiency with small hand and power tools
- Familiarity with mechanical and electrical assemblies
- Ability to work with minimal direction while knowing when to ask for input or help
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment without sacrificing work quality
- Positive and hardworking attitude; ability to function well with a team and remain calm under pressure
- Willingness to work overtime, as needed, prior to critical deadlines
Desired Qualifications
- Electrical and electromechanical assembly build-out and testing
- Experience with machine tools (mill, lathe, etc.)
