A Redditch based, Industry leading Manufacturer are looking to add a Manufacturing Engineer to join their team. At this state-of-the-art facility, the business design, manufacture, and assemble precision forged and machined components for a variety of industries.
An ideal candidate will have sound production or manufacturing engineering experience gained from within a cellular manufacturing environment.
Key responsibilities for the successful Manufacturing Engineer:
- Support New Product Introduction by developing production routes to deliver First Article Inspection samples and a production ready process in line with program requirements
- Adopt new technology / processing routes to improve existing products
- Work with Quality Engineers to agree measurement criteria
- Work with Operations to ensure production route is viable
- Liaise with both internal and external customers including certification bodies or agencies
- Participate in product process improvement activities to improve productivity and profitability
- Participate in structured problem-solving activities
Key Technical/Professional Competencies:
- HNC / Degree educated within a relevant discipline or time served Engineering apprenticeship
- Strong knowledge of Machining
- Excellent technical problem-solving ability
- Ability to utilise CAD / CAM systems
- Previous experience of simulation software
- Specific metal forging knowledge would be advantageous
- Knowledge of machining processes
- Ability to work within and understand relevant quality systems and specifications
